Today I borrow a book about Buddhism from the Chinese library. I wanted to learn something about Buddhism for a long time because I liked the little story of it. But I return it back in ten minutes, just after I saw a sentence in the foreword. The sentence is, “It is helpful for our building of the socialistic society with Chinese characteristics”.
It is not because I dislike the socialism that I return it back, but that I hate the book is not a pure one any more. It is polluted by the temporal things. A book, which focuses on the belief, shouldn’t be related to the temporal things. It must be pure.
We should read a book concentrating on spirit with a purpose such as building up our inner quality. We read them because we like it; we just enjoy the reading process.
I acknowledge that we will build up our inner quality after reading these books, but this shouldn’t be the purpose. It is always the result but not the purpose. Though the results are the same, the benefits we gain are different, because we have different attitudes.
Things always change when we do it with too strong temporal purposes. If you want to live a happy life, you should learn to do things for fun, just for fun. Doing things without purpose can simplify your life. Living a simple life always mean living a happy life. Hope you live a happy life.

Song is the best medium for recalling by TianBeibei
When you are listening to a familiar song, what will happen to you? I think to most of us it will remind us of what have happened before and we will always remember the same things when we listen to the song.
Today when I did my silent reading, I felt so sleepy that I listen to some music to refresh myself. I like the song, When Christmas comes to town, very much. So I listened to it again and again. At first I just did my reading as well as listened to music. Then I try to concentrate on the music. Thus, a familiar feeling came into my mind. This feeling is what I have during my preparation for the college entrance examination. At that time I worked very hard and was eager to learn some new methods to deal with the questions.
As the feeling came into my mind, I can focus on my reading. I read frequently and have a good understand of what the author want to express. Really amazing. How can music have such a magic power?
Different songs remind me different kinds of feeling. The song, chong er fei, remind me of the stress I experienced during my senior 3 year. When I listened to chong er fei, a clear scene came into my mind. That is, I can’t fall into sleep, lying on the bed. It is trouble me a lot at that time because I can’t concentrate on my study next day. However, when I, lying on the bed, listen to it, I enjoy it very much. If you ever had the similar experience, you would find that tasting the feelings you had in a bad time is just a kind of enjoyment. It is really interesting and I like very much. If I have generate your interest, you can have a try. But I have told to you that something is just like an old Chinese motto says, “ke yu bu ke qiu(可遇不可求)”. That is something just can be came across by accident, you can’t require it on purpose.

Make a bet by Tian Beibei
Today in our storytelling contest, Liu Hanfu told something about his own experience. At the end of his story, he gave us an advice which I disagree with.
He told his story and now I tell my story to support my idea.
When I was a senior 3 student, I was elected to attend to the maths competition. As we all know if I get the first prize, I can get into some university directly. So I was eager to get the first prize so that I can release myself.Then I decided to take a risk. I asked my headteacher for one month leave and stay in the dorm to study maths. I overcome the dullness and stick to my plan.But finally I failed.
Have I regret for this? Never! Before you do something,how do you know you will fail?SO every time a chance come, just try to grab it.You may fail and lost something.But don’t you want to achieve more?If the answer is “yes”,you have to make a bet.Because things always likes this:the more risks you run, the more profits you gain.
And this remark was proved by my experience. In fact, in some degree I can’t pass the entrance to Singapore for my further study if I don’t make a bet. Before the final exam came,I almost learn nothing because I concentrated on passing the exam.So I make a good preparation and pass the exam finally.
What if I don’t make a bet? Maybe I am still in Xi’an Jiaotong university, studying the medical which I hate very much. I want to achieve more so I make a bet. I want to make a change so I make a bet. And I succeeded.
And if I gain the first prize,how can I get the chance to come here for my further study? It is similar to Liu Hanfu.
So just follow your desire and make a bet if it is necessary. If you fail, never regret. You want to achieve more, so you run a risk. This is absolutely right. I will always support you.
